Luxury fabrics and embellished evening dresses are the signature style of Sydney-based fashion designer Rachel Gilbert. Following her design study in Sydney, Rachel Gilbert went on to work with Lisa Ho and Morrisey. Following her big break in New York stitching up a range for it-girl Nicky Hilton, Rachel returned to Sydney to establish her own label.
Loved by the likes of Natalie Bassingthwaite and Taylor Swift, Rachel Gilbert’s frocks are the party-perfect pieces favoured by girls-in-the-know the world over.
Working alongside the best of Australian fashion designers, Gilbert’s career from her days attending Sydney’s prestigious The Whitehouse Institute of Design, has moved through many phases, from working with Lisa Ho to women’s wear designer for Morrisey.
All past collections, friends and fashion mentors as well as the many hours working with the finest fabrics, and the nation’s best creatives have contributed to the Rachel Gilbert Sydney collection showing at the 2007 Rosemount Australian Fashion Week.
