Introducing… Thread Pop!

threadpopflyer

Well, Thread Peeps, it goes a little something like this: We’re having a pop-up sale. Where we take our favourite brands and put them all in the one space, all at the one time, for your ultimate shopping pleasure.

If that weren’t enough, we then take up to 80% OFF the retail price of said amazing fashion items (designer and vintage, by the way).

And then we add music (care of the lovely DJ Helena). And free drinks. And artwork by some ridiculously talented local artists.

Sounds like one hellava amazing day? You betcha. Details on the flyer above.

See you there!

Spring is on its way in, finally! Less than two weeks to go, and we’re getting ridiculously excited at being able to wear all the marvelous little dresses we’ve been snapping up, sans opaques!

Actress Camilla Belle is a classic inspiration of just how graphic your graphic print can go. We can’t all own Alexander McQueen, but we can definitely turn up the notch on bold, brightly clashing prints to salute the seasonal change.

Style stalker: Kate Bosworth.

Kate Bosworth, denim afficiando.

Kate Bosworth is one of our regular go-to girls for street style inspiration. She’s low-key (saving the more daring numbers for the red carpet), but always manages to look polished, put together and effortlessly cool – all with a dash of nonchalance. In another life, she was definitely French!

The breakdown:

  1. Take care of your sh*t. You won’t see no creases, tears, stains or other outward signs of garment disregard from this girl.
  2. Kate definitely subscribes to Coco Chanel’s “remove one item before leaving the house” maxim. Simplicity is key. Keep the accessories to a minimum and let the clothes speak for themselves.
  3. Her colour palette favours neutrals over brights – think dove greys, cream, white, caramel. When she wears a print, it’s subtly-flavoured, not loud and proud.
  4. Kate knows what works for her, and she sticks to it. Soft-print mini sundress? Check. Denim short (not quite micro) shorts? Check. Loose-fitting top, to balance those shorts? Check. Sweet-as-pie Coachella-appropriate playsuit? Yep!

The Effigy 49 sale, now on, has a cartload of Kate-appropriate street pieces, and we’ll keep you posted as more drop in. Gorgeous vampire hunk of a boyfriend is, sadly, sold separately.
