What’s my favourite time of the year? May/ June of course! BE BOLD.
Forget about the drab, dull and depressing colours of winter, this season it’s all about bright, bold colours! For some (like me) whose wardrobe consists mainly of black, grey, white, and more black the thought of sporting a bright colour can be quite scary. However, pastels like lilac, aqua and peach provide the perfect splash of colour that isn’t too OTT and can be expressed in sheer, leather and contrasting prints. If you are still a little nervous about pulling off this trend just remember to mix super bights with dark and white colours for a more wearable and understated glamour.
Colours are surprisingly versatile and will lighten winters traditionally heavy fabrics and monotonous colours. This season the LRD (little red dress) is proving to be a major hit on the international runways while colours like marigold, coral and seafoam are perfect to freshen up the cold winter days. Don’t have the confident to mix bold colours and patterns like the beauties of Proenza Schouler? Opt for brightly coloured accessories like shoes or a clutch which still add an amazing impact to the simplest of outfits. So lay off your neutrals for a while and rejoice the season of colour, the bolder the better!
