Brittan’s leading high end fashion empire Topshop opened its first Australian store today inside Incu in Paddington. With Australia being Topshops second largest online market next to Brittan, this is a very exciting partnership for Incu owners and could lead to many stand alone Topshop stores being opened around the country. Kate Moss is the current ambassador for the brand and also designs her own range for the store. Incu presents Topshop will be receiving new stock monthly…definitely go check this one out!

Reebok Pump turns 20! And is still knocking our socks off…

It’s been 20 epic years since the first Reebok Pump prototype was exhibited in February 1989, hitting the shelves later that year. The Pump won our hearts with its innovative concept – inflatable air chambers that pump up for customised cushioning, and very quickly became an icon of popular street culture. Homer Simpson had a pair in an episode in 1991, and Macauly Culcin wore them in Michael Jacksons “Black or White” film clip, boosting sales that year by 26% to $2.7 billion. The Pump has also been endorsed by many athletes including Michael Chang, Shaquille O’Neal and Greg Norman, turning the sports world into a Reebok Pump vs. Nike Air campaign frenzy since its release.

Mo Money, Less Problems
It’s that time of the year again to throw away your razor and set your whiskers free for Movember. Apart from looking like your totally killing it, it’s an opportunity for you to raise money and aid support for men’s health issues including prostate cancer and depression. Think Ron Jeremy, Stalin, Freddie Mercury, Chopper…and start growing, lads!

Captured Beauty
New Yorker, Catherine Servel is by far one of our favorite fashion photographers. Her use of colors and tones is second to none. I will let her images speak for themselves.

Festy Season

Summer festival line ups are being released and everyone’s getting a little bit excited. Ringing ears, port-a-loos, mud baths… we all secretly dig it! The most surprising announcement would have to be The Killers headlining Good Vibrations, their second visit to oz in under a year after performing for V Festival in March. Also billed at Vibes is Busta Rhymes, who disappointed fans on his last visit in 2004 by not appearing on stage at the Sydney show and cancelling the rest of his tour.

Rock Royalty
Top 5 band riders… something to think about when we’re all famous…
5. Jane’s Addiction like their green room to have “an earthy, velvet and velour type atmosphere with potted indoor plants”
4. Korn demanded a “rock friendly” lawyer and that a doctor and a dentist be present at all times
3. Van Halen insisted “no brown M&Ms in the backstage area upon pain of forfeiture of the show, with full compensation.” They figured if they found brown M&Ms backstage, it meant the promoter hadn’t read every line of the contract and it was more likely there’d be problems with the show. Smart, really.
2. Red Hot Chili Peppers prefer a meditation room with aromatherapy candles
1. Iggy Pop once requested seven dwarfs. Amen.

Skate or Die
US skateboard renegades the Flip Team are releasing the 3rd installment to their “Sorry” DVD series at the Astor Theatre in Melbourne this week. Presented by Globe, “Extremely Sorry” follows the Flip crew while they wreak havoc on the city purely for our entertainment. Known for taking the piss out of professional skateboard competitions (rather than their skating ability), these dudes are pretty much what you get when you put Jackass on wheels.

Show us your Birthday Suit!
Local all girl comic drag collective The Kingpin’s have released their idiosyncratic fashion label Birthday Suit in Sydney. If Peaches doesn’t know about this, someone needs to tell her! The garments and headpieces are created for ladies (who are all about the ladies) and showcase the Kingpin’s signature individual style.
Although one of the members graduated from the College of Fine Arts at UNSW, these designs are not to be worn to tea with your mother. The ‘Dick Dress’, Cheetah Rose Catsuit and various headpieces are available at Incu as of this week.
